Football Plus Turkey Equals Memories (just ask Leon Lett)

Filed under: NFL — Bill @ 9:08 pm

I heard an interesting stat that this is only the second time in 30 years that both teams playing in the Detroit Thanksgiving game are plus .500.

What are your earliest Thanksgiving football memories?

So many great Turkey Day footbal moments including great players like Billy Sims, Greg Landry, O.J., Walter Payton, and many, many others.

We all have our favorite Thanksgiving memories, my first was not so pleasant. It was 1970. The Raiders were playing the Lions and when we left for my aunt’s house we had a comfortable lead. By the time we got there we had lost. Then again there was that mid-’80’s Lions-Packers game that I had bet a huge wad on the over, I seem to recall it was something like 28-27 at the half. The game I most recall was O.J. and the Bills running wild over the Lions, he was spectacular back then.

On this day of Thanksgiving stop and remember your fondest football moments, enjoy what the Gridiron Gods have provided, and be thankful for your bountiful feast.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
